Over at photofocus, Scott Bourne has posted an article on the relative reliability of memory cards for photographers. The short answer is that all the major brands are very good. And I agree.
What I would have added to his post as a comment, if he allowed comments, would be some information about the relative speed of these memory cards when used in different brands of cameras. Rob Galbraith has been doing work for years measuring those speed differences and has a huge database compiled online.
In that database you’ll find that, for whatever reason, some brands of cards read and write faster in some brands of cameras. I’d suggest you look at Rob’s work and see if you can gain a slight speed bump with a different brand of memory card.
And besides the database, Rob has a wealth of general information about memory cards there—who makes them, how they work, and more.
Me? I shoot SanDisk cards.
