So now I’ve made another move, this time from Blogger to WordPress for the whole site. WordPress is running on my own domain hosted on servers at Go Daddy. This will allow me to better integrate my gallery with the blog, as you can see from the tab for the Gallery above. So its still all a work in progress, and might not turn out as I’m hoping, but you can’t tell until you try.
From SmugMug to Flickr
I’ve switched my primary online photo storage from SmugMug (great site) to Flickr. After being a member at SmugMug and Flickr (the free account) for some time now, I’ve upgraded to Flickr Pro and will use that site from now on.
Here’s my analysis:
SmugMug Pros:
- Flexible layout options
- Possibility to sell photos online with their top level membership
Flickr Pros:
- Tremendous social activities — very active comments, forums and favorites
- Unlimited bandwidth and storage
- Nice implementation of collections and sets
- Everyone who’s anyone is there
See what I’ve been shooting at my Flickr photostream.
